I originally trained as a Hatha-Flow Yoga teacher, and later deepened my practice through studies in Functional and Adaptive Yoga. Over time, I’ve expanded my knowledge in Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Mindfulness and Meditation.
Before becoming a yoga teacher, I spent a decade working as a financial index analyst in London and New York, followed by five years running my own translation company. The intensity of that fast-paced lifestyle eventually led to complete burnout. It was through yoga and meditation that I began to restore my mental wellbeing and manage the long-term effects of stress.
This personal experience is what drives my work today. I specialise in the therapeutic use of Gentle Yoga and Meditation to support mental health and self-care. My focus is on helping people reconnect with themselves - physically, mentally, and emotionally - so they can move with greater ease and feel more at home in their own bodies.
I teach with a functional approach to help you better understand your unique physical structure, habitual patterns and movement tendencies in order to improve posture, mobility, the healing process and overall body awareness. As part of my method, I explore underlying mental and emotional patterns that might be causing a disconnect, so that I can help you to bring mind and body back into balance.
Over the years, I’ve found that this approach and encouragement in using physical movement and self-affirming methods that suit people's personal situation, helps to build confidence, resilience, and calm. It empowers people to navigate life’s challenges with a little more steadiness and self-compassion.
By moving in a way that suits your body, and using mindfulness and relaxation practices that you feel comfortable with, you begin to work in partnership with your body, mind and emotions. You become more accepting and respectful of who you are. You start to feel more at ease within yourself, and are much more likely to commit to caring for your body and mental health.
This work continues to have a transformative effect on me, and I look forward to sharing it you.
